130 ATTEND 21st PARTYThe coming-of-age party given at Penrith R.S.L. Hall by Mr and Mrs E. V. Hughes, of Luddenham, for their third son. Kenneth, was attended by 130 relatives and friends.As doyen of the Hughes family (descended' from the early pioneers of Luddenham district), Grandma” Hughes, aged 88 years, was given a place of pride at the supper table. Her four sons, four daughters, more than 30 grandchildren, and 30 greatgrandchildren were present.Mr. Arthur Downes was master of ceremonies for dancing to the music of Mr. Bill Roberts' orchestra. Entertainment was also provided by tenor Mr. Fred Sparks, a cousin of the guest of honour.Toast to the guest of honour was presented by Mr. Downes and supported by Messrs Jack Murphy and Bert Buller. Following the response by Mr. Ken Hughes he was presented with the traditional key by his father.Dancing continued until midnight, following the supper provided by Nepean Catering Company. Presents received by the guest of honour included numerous cheques.
