Sarah E. Shaffer 709 South 8th St. Goshen, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Ira Smith at Topeka, where she was spending the winter, on March 18, at 4:20 p.m. She was born in Jay Coun ty, Indiana, in 1848, aged 74 years The husband J. A. Shaffer and one son Clarence, preceded her in death. There are six children left to mourn her loss, Mrs. Alma Rice and J. A. Shafferd of Kendallville, Mrs. George Swank of Goshen; and Mrs. . Aaron Price of Union Star, Missouri. Two brothers, John Hite of Millersburg and James Hite of Ligonier. Funeral services and burial at Salem, north of Lig onier, Wednesday afternoon.
