Mrs. Russel! had recently recovered from quite a se-\e«j spell of sickness, but on last IThur9duy was strong enough to spend the day with her daughter, 1 Mrs. K. J. Koch.* Thursday night she was stricken with neuralgia of the heart, and before the faqiily and friends could hardly realize that she was ill the attending physician announced to her sorrowing family that it was beyond medical power and skill to prolong her life many days. After lingering until shortly after thref* o'clock Saturday afternoon she quietly passed away, fully conscious of the fact that she was crossing over the silent river and wDuld soon be on the other shore. Her death was as calm and quiet as if she had been only sleeping, and the cheerful smile on her face plainly showed, that she was prepared to go. and that Death's Grim Reaper had no terror for her. There was no one in Checotah who was more universally loved and respected than ftfrs.
