nThe news that cuines from Castle to the effect that the Great Northern railroad through its agents is figuring with the Castle company to secure the out-j put of its mines upon the assurance lt;that the railroad company will build a ; line to that camp is not encouraging to i this section. We do not believe, how- ’ ever, that the Northern Pacific .with the c *h j aggressive policy which has character- ; t ized it in the past will remain idle and h permit this traffic, which rightfully be- I longs to it, to he diverted by way of j J Great Falls for the benefit of the Great Northern. The Shields Giver valley affords a much more feasible route to Castle than could be obtained by any other road, and with this natural advantage it is not reasonable to suppose that the Northern Pacific will permit its territory to be invaded without a determined effort to protect itself.
