FINALLY IISPONKI) OFWimieh, Neb., March 30.—(Special.)—In the district court now in session at Wilber, the celebrated case of The State vs Grant Wright, charged with rape, was dismissed for want of prosecution. This case arose under the age of consent law of 1*87. The jury on the trial of the case found the defendant- guilty on the sec* ond count of the indictment, which was “with the consent of the prosecutrix.11 The cone was taken to the supreme court, which sustained the verdict atul remanded the case for new trial.The case of Louisa Haggin vs. Isaac Hoggin, for damages for fraud in deceiving her by a snr.m or pretended marriage for the purpose or see n-ing a release of a judgment in favor of the pi i.n-titT and against tin* defendant as alimony, was also tried. The allegations of the plaintiff w* * that the defendant induced h^r to release t e judgment referred to on the promise of murr i , and the parties proceeded to Washington, h , and had a mysterious so called clergyman ; -form a marriage ceremony.
