J. CHRISTENSEN RITES SATURDAYJulius Christensen of Hound Lake, who passed away last Wednesday morning, March 13th at 9:35, had been sick for the last (three weeks following a stroke. He had been a resident of Iowa and Minnesota most of his life, and part of that time was a resident of Lake Park.Julius Christ Christensen was born July 9, 1ST1 at Reisum, Schleswig, Holstein, Germany, and passed away at his home at Round Lake, Minn., on March 13, 1940 at the age of 68 years, 8 months and 4 days.When only ten months of age he came to America with his parents. They settled at Clinton, Iowa, and lar ter moved to Crawford county where he grew to manhood. He was baptized before he came to this country and was confirmed in the Lutheran faith in Hanover township in Iowa.In the year 1900 he was united in marriage to Louise Reimer. They resided on a farm in Crawford county and from there moved to Monona county where they lived for five years. In 1914 they moved to Minnesota and settled in Sioux Valley township where they famed for 22 years. Then they retired to move to Lake Park, and later to Round Lake, Minn., which has heen their home for the three years.Six children were born to this union one daughter Malinda preceding him in death in 1931. He is survived by his devoted wife of forty years and five children: Hannah, Tena (Mrs. Virgil Thom); Fred and Julius Christensen, all of Round Lake, Minn.; and Edna, (Mrs. Victor Benning) of Mankato, Minn. There are also three grandchildren. He is the third of a family of six to pass away. He leaves three sisters, Mrs.. Peter Atzen and Mrs. John Jacobsen of Lake Park, Iowa, and Mrs. Amelia Rolls of Denison, Iowa and a host of relatives and friends.Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon, March 16th, at 2:00 p. m, in the Presbyterian church at Round Lake, Minn., with Rev. M. W. Leiske officiating. Hymns were sung by Eleanor Mae Ashmore, June Schlapkolil and Elaine Hinton, accompanied by Mrs. W. F.
