March 21, 1935Job's Daughters Exemplify Ceremonies For the Eastern StarBethel No. 0, Order of Job's Daughters, exemplified the ritualistic ceremonies of their order for Betsy Rosa Chapter, No. 834, 0. E. S., Wednesday evening, March 13.The regular business meeting took . place in another room before the ceremony of initiation was performed for the chapter. Olive Moore, Honored Queen, announced a bunco party at her home March 29, to which the public is cordially invited, with tickets for sale at 25 cents per person. Much enthusiosfr greeted this, for Bethel bunco parties are always a lot of fun and a great success. A beautiful fan pillow, donated by Mrs. Koeppel, will be raffled off on Honored Queens’ night, March 27. and Olive reminded the girls to get busy selling their penny chances for it. There are some very enjoyable evenings planned for the future. Honorary Degree Night, whereby Job’s Daughters, over twenty, receive their honorary membership degree In Bethel, \^ill be April 10. Friends' Night, the evening each officer asks a Bethel friend to take her station, is planned for April 24. Another big event, Advance Night, will take place on May 8, when the line officers advance one station. A celebration of celebrations is scheduled for May 17 in the Grant White auditor!unv—“The Red-headed . Stepchild” will be presented by a cast of eight Job's Daughters and four young men. Incidentally, a tip from rehearsals states that the sweet, vivacious Mildred Miller is to play the leading lady role. This discussion closed the meeting, and the Job's Daughters proceeded to the chapter room.Marian Janousek, Hazel Reich and Mildred Miller, Past Honored Queens of Bethel No. 6, were escorted and introduced. Mr. and Mrs. Sager, Worthy Patron and Worthy Matron of Betsy Rosa chapter, were a jolly host and hostess for the evening, and they were escorted to the East and introduced. Lola Mae Smith and Dorothy Sager passed the ceremony of initiation and were welcomed by Olive and her officers into the order. Mrs. Sager was asked to stand in the East for the closing ceremonies. At the conclusion, Olive Moore, Ellenor Evans and Jeannette Osburn, the three principal officers walked slowly up to Mrs. Sager, while Marion Ptolemy sang “We Send You Our Love with These Roses.” After the song, Olive presented the hostess with a * lovely bouquet of roses and expressed her appreciation for the successful evening.The Job’s Daughters sat about a beautifully decorated table for re-I frcshments. Paper calla lilies were I attached to the candy cups, and a cross of these flowers waa formed as a centerpiece on the table. Tasty I cakes with peaches and whipped creamand coffee were served. Each officer i had another delightful evening to I place in her book of Bethel memories.
