Capt. C. U. McAfee was elected chairman and Mr. W. J. Haydon, secretary. Dr. Geo. M. Cox moved that nominations be by ballot. Adopted. Mr. J. L. French and Dr. Cox were appointed tellers. Dr. J. It.! Smith was nominated for Councilman the lirsi ballot and the nomination was declared unanimous. W. G. Porter was elected member of Executive Committee. J. L. French and Frllx J Forter were appointed a committee oh reglt-i tration. A resolution reaffirming; Democratic principles was offered by Capt. McAfee, but the friends of Mr. French objected and it was I •withdrawn. The meetiog adjourned. j
