Penny, the foreman of the camp that was buried hv a gnow-slido on Saturday morning last, March 2d, for the following particulars of thelamentable occurrence* Tho camp is ft loghouse situated a short distance east of the large tunnel being run by the Central Pacific lloilroud through the summit, and contained at the time of tho slide fifteen whitemen. The avalanche tool: place about halfpast' -I, while all in the house were in bed, smashing in the roof and covering the entire house ruth snow to ft great depth, and mat-1 ing prisoners of every one within for from twelve to fourteen houis, tho bunks rangedaround the walls protecting all save three oftho Inmates, who wore killed* Ten of tho fifteen^'ero rescued without being injured, two weic badly bruised when taken out, but nro now doing well and will probably recover in a short time, aud three, as before stated, were killed outright. -Tho following particulars vyerc gathered,by our informant fiom anexamination of tho papers of tho men killed: Thomas Inglis was a Scotchman by birth, being from Pcebleshire, and was 50 years of age; ho had been ten yearn in California, and had worked at mining in this county, near Pine Grove, formerly lie caino to this Statefrom Pittbburg, Pennsylvania, where ho leavesa family. James Dufiy came to this State in1804, and formerly lived and worked in Sacramento; ho has a brother and other relativesin Chicago, Illinois; ho was about 35 years of lugc* James Nagle was about 25 years of age by birth tm.Irishman, and came to this State in lSGi from Philadelphia* Th% three bodies ^cre brought down on tho railroad on Thursday last, one was buried horc, and the other two earned below*'
