At the Ellis arthritis talent show on Friday night he stood hisself up on a chair and kept announcer Cal George busy with his fast comebacks. The patter went like this. Announcer: And how old are you! D.W.P.: I'm four. Announcer: And_ how old will you be next year ? D.W.P.: Tl be six. Announcer: They do things differently in Powell River! And what does your daddy do? 1).W.P. pondered this for a minute, because his dad is manag er of Valley Credits at Westview, a credit bureau. It isn’t a store, or a mill, or anything a little seller could readily hang on a des cription. Finally the youngster stated: He works. Announcer:h....and where does he work D.W.P.: Down at Westview. Announcer: And what does he do at Westview D.W.P. (getting a little impatient at the announcer’s apparent slowness) ‘‘He works” Announcer: Oh...nice. Well donald, how long have you been practicing for your number! D.W.P.:After a brief pause for some rapid mental addition) Fifteen years. Donnie won the hearts of many as he sang his way to 4th place out of seventeen contestants, sing ing, ‘‘There’s a Bluebird on Your Window Sill, written by a nurse in the Children’s Hospital, Van couver, B.C.
