Mrs. James Harris, Correspondent Sleiepnone Yilh, MRS. LEROY WirARLANY Mrs. Willa Leota McFarland, 46, wife of LeRoy McFarland, former Xenian, died at her home in Steubenville, O., Friday. Born in Crittenden, Ky. July 24, 1891, the daughter of William and Isabelle Hart, she lived in Xenia before moving to Steuben ville ten years ago. Besides her husband, Mrs. McFarland leaves a daughter, Laura Isabelle, of Steu benville, and a sister, Mrs. Nan nie Margerson, of Lebanon. Funeral services will be con ducted in Steubenville Sunday. The body will be brought to Xenia for burial and arrange ments will be announced later. Mrs. Rosa Ware of E. Market St. who is employed in Cincin nati, was in the city Friday. She will visit her son in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Crosswhite, Jr. of Washington D. H., before returning to the Queen City. Ethel Jane Rickman, a pupil in the fourth grade at Lincoln School, is confined to her home by illness. Very impressive memorial ser vices were held for the late Mrs. Edward French at the Johnson Funeral Home Friday afternoon. Rev. L. C. Collins, pastor of the Middle Run Baptist Church, read the sixteenth Psalm and four of the deceased's favorite hymns were sung. Among persons present from a distance were Miss Ger trude French of Cleveland; Mr. and Mrs. Chester Dickerson and Miss Maebelle French of Colum bus; Mrs. Lula Beauchamp and Mr. and Mrs. J. P. Raglan of Marysville. Numerous relatives and friends from surrounding towns were at the service. Inter ment was made in Jamestown. Funeral services for the late Henry Bledsow were held at the Middle Run Baptist Church Thurs day afternoon. Mrs. Aroma Lig gins read the obituary, and Rev. Collins delivered the eulogy. The East High and Lincoln band and orchestra presented a at the Zion (9th St.) Baptist Church, Cincinnati, Fri day evening, present at 3:00 p. m., besides the women and children. Dr. Gilbert Jones, dean of the college of Education and vice presi dent of Wilberforce University, will be the guest speaker. Final plans for the day will be an nounced later. FIRST A. M. E.
