Simmons was elected Mayor of Napoleonville this week, and Mr. Xavier Dugas, Jerk of Court, both to fill unex red terms, the first due to resignation, the latter due to death, Rev. Father Mauret advises us that on next Wednesday and Thursday, there will be presen ted at St Charles Theatre, an ex hibition wherein three reels, de picting the work of the National Catholic War Council, at home and abroad, before, during, and since the war, showing the ex tensive work the Council entered for the good of the service, the betterment of the social life, and welfare of the boys, who remain ed in camp here, and went over there, as well as looking after their match comfort, and future since, particularly the cripple and wounded. The picture will be free. The local council Knights of Colum bus have been tendering the use of Pather Mauret's cinema, and if no arrangements can be made the picture will be exhibited in this commu nity free to everybody, date to be an nounced later. The local council dele gated the matter to its entertain ment committee, who in turn appoin ted Mr. Charles A. Badeaux, to make arrangements with Father Maurot. —Get W. S.
