At the last election he was the successful candidate for town -ship trustee, but {because of ill healthhe resigned the office.The deplorable act was accomplished with a shotgun, the muzzle being placedto the side of his head, blowing off the top of his head mutilating it in a fright-ful manner. Death was instantaneous. The deed carat- without warning to any of the family, though his son Henry was at work but u few feet away and hearing I he gun discharged turned in time to see his father failing. Coroner Wright Held an inquestover the remains and rendered n verdict in accordance with above. The funeral occurred at the Egypt school-house, Monday, Rev. B. F Ferguson officiating. Joseph A, ritnmons wan a son of Charles W. Timmons a pioneer settler of Jumper county, and was bom Jan. 3, 1847. He married Miss Jennie Waymire about *23 years ago, and they have been blessed with eight children.
