DEATH CLAIMED HIM.An East Lyme Business Man Called to HI* Lons Home*The death of Luther C. Eaton which occurred at hia home in East Lyme, Sunday, March 10, takes away a buaineas man who can ill be spa ed and he will be greatly missed amoug his neighbors and friends who in the past ten years had learned to like hi 111 so well.The following from the New London Telegraph shows the high esteem in which he was held :The funeral of Luther C. Eaton of East Lyme, occurred Wednesday after-uoou at 2 o’clock from the residence of his father-in-law, J. P, Comstock. A large concourse of people assembhd to pay the last tribute of respect to the deceased, and the number present clearly testified to the love and esteem in which he was held by thj whole community.Mr. Eaton went to East Lyme some ten years ago from Stafford, Conn. He became a clerk in the Niantic Mills company’s store and continued in that employ until they closed their business. After that he went into business on his own account, where he remained until some six months ago, when he associated himself with J. B. Hough of East Lyme in a general merchandise store, j under the firm name of Hough lt;fc Eaton,Some three weeks ago Mr. Eaton was stricken with the grip. He was convalescing from this when he had a relapse and it was soon evident that pneumonia had set in, which terminated fatally. Mr. Eaton leaveRa wife and little daughter.
