Chenango Fork*, Where Sad llanOnce I^ived.Thursday*a Associated Press despatches related that a man named Edward Rogers, residing at Saginaw, Mich., shot and killed his mistress, a woman named Hattie Moses, with t whom he had lived for over a year, and then tried to end hia own life by sending a ballet into hie breast. It has since been learned that Rogers formerly lived at Chenango Forks, where bis mother is now living. Sheriff Ockei* man is acquainted with the family, bat has not seen the murderer since be was nine years of age. The father of Rogers disappeared from homo years ago, leaving his wife and children in destitute condition. The support of the children devolved upon the mother, who cared for them as best she could with a little assistance from her relatives. While a young lad Edward left home in search of bis father. He wandered about the West and finally obtained a situation in a saloon. Later he formed an alliance with the woman whotn he afterwards murdered ^in a fit of jealousy.It is claimed that Rogers’ father U now living with another wife in the West. When last heard from Rogers was just alivo; but hie recovery was considered doubtful
