Six great meetings are promised by promoters of a national move ment, for Iowa City, the afternoon and evening of Tuesday, May 8th, 10th, and 11th. These meetings are under the auspices of the “Flying Squadron,” of which Oliver Wayne Stewart of Chicago, president of the Fly ing Squadron Foundation, is lead er. The Iowa City Ministerial Union is backing the movement. Lorentz, the famous University of Leiden mathemati cian, has left, after delivering ad dresses, and being feted in Iowa City. He is touring from the Gol den Gate to the east. Miss Lenora M. Bohach of Iowa City, enjoys the distinction this Metea day, celebrated by the en gineers, of being the only woman j enrolled in the college of applied science, at S. Mrs. George Richter has return ed to her home in Des Moines, af ter visiting her son, Mr. B. Rich ter. Mrs. James J. Gibney, after a fortnight’s illness, is‘ convales cent at her homes. Mrs. Lou. Hoope has returned to her home in Parnell, Towa, af ter passing a fortnight in an Towa City hospital. She is rapidly ad vancing to her old state of health. Mr. George Curry, whose leg was broken while he was working in the timber near his home at ‘Tiffin, is improving ‘nicely at a local hospital. Mr. Elmer Wirtner and Mr. Paul Kohl are confined to their respective homes at Solon. Both are employes of Charles Palmer.
