Terrible Accident at Twin Lakes Which Results in Death of Small Child. One of the sad and unfortunate af fairs of the past week was the death of the seven-months-old baby of Mr. and Mrs. John McKeown of Twin Lakes Sunday morning from the ef fects of severe scalds received Satur day. It seems Mrs. McKeown was preparing for the child’s bath and went to remove a kettle of water from the stove. The handle of the kettle was too hot to hold and she let it slip from her hand to the floor. As it struck the floor the water splashed over the face and body the child, which was sitting close by in a high chair, severely scalding it. Dr. Todd was at once called and ev erything possible was done for the relief of the little sufferer, but to no avail and it passed away early Sun day morning. The mother is pros trated with grief over the accident and has the sincere sympathy of all in the terrible bereavement which has come so suddenly upon her. The funeral services were held at Twin Lakes Monday forenoon.
