Loren F. Emmons, born at Hart land, Conn., Oct. 10, 1821, died at his home in New Oregon township, Howard county, Iowa, March 11,1904, at the ripe age of B2 years, 4 months and aqeaye. His early life was spent in Connecticut, New York and Ohio. Tn the year 1855 he moved to Iowa and settled upon the place that has since been his home. When nine years of age his father died, and he was bound out and lived with the ian uaotil he was fourteen, when he started out for himself and has since made his own way in the world. On March 8, 1848, he was married to Phebe A. Humphrey at Gilford Center, N. Y., by the Rev. Justus L. Jones. Four children have been born to this Hajon, Mrs. Wm. Howard of Cresco, Iowa, Mrs. James Shaw of Madison, S. D., Mrs. Geo. A. Morrin, of Clearwater, Mino., and Lewis E. Fimmons, the only son who hias always remained with his parents, all of whom with the aged companion remain to mourn his loss. Funeral services were held at the home at 10:30 Tuesday morning, March 15, conducted by Rev. John Gammons of the M. E. church, Cres co, assisted by a choir composed of Mrs. Geo, Miller, Mrs. E. O. White, G. L. Hatter and Thos, Jones. A number from Cresco attended the funeral services. Burial was in New Oregon cemetery. CARD OF THANKS.
