Mob Law,Hashsc**, March 15th, *85.For the Nk« »•Great excitement has been creak din this section of the state by the dastardly and outrageous murder of Mrs, Elisabeth Taylor and her brother Thomas Jones, near Spicy Hanch, Clay couuty. At that time a Mr. Roberta was hauling some wood off of a piece of laud which Mrs. Taylor claimed she had an Interest in aud her two boys, one 14 and the other 16 years oiff, forbid himfrom taking the wood. As he moved off with a ioad they shot him. They are now in prison waiting trial. The woman, it issupposed, Indig ted the boys to the deed.Her character w as notorious and it was inti-mated that she was the cause of other murders, but no one supposed that vlosen would be resorted to.There does not appear to be any very scii-1 ons charge against Jones, but he lived with his slater. The mob found several others in the house, all of whom were tied and left while Mrs rayl.tr and Mr Jones wore led to the river and after bring allowed t ► praywere strung up to the timbers of t e bridge* over the Elite.it U considered one of the greatest out-' rages tint ever disgraced the state. The p* opie are awaiting a reward fr.m the gov* * truer for the perpetrators of the crime. One man from the vicinity of this horrid deed i say* he has the names of 13 of the party and will soon make them known.This growing practice of mob law in our state i* great cause for alarm and the sooner ; it is condemned by enforcing the severest penalty of the law upon those guilty of the crime the better.
