Koch will be unopposed for the office of president for the village of Whitehall at the spring election, April 2, to succeed Ludvig Hammer-stad. Candidates for village offices were nominated at the village caucus held in the village hall Thursday night with 123 votes cast.Mayor Hammerstad announced that he was not a candidate for re-election and Dr. H. C. Koch, J. F. Hager, E. J. Kidder and W. G. Olson were nominated. The nomination was won by Dr. Koch and Mr. Olson, the latter announcing Friday morning that he refused to qualify.The terms of Trustees A. E. Sax-rud. P. M. Paulson and Dr. Anton Void expire. They were nominated to succeed themselves and will be opposed by Herbert Holtan and G. M. Thomley.Adolph Gilbertson won the nomination for village clerk to oppose the incumbent A. W. Wright and Treasurer Adolph Hanson will be opposed by Henry Fransen. E. A. Sorenson, assessor, will have no opposition and he was nominated by acclamation. Others who were nominated to succeed themselves without opposition are: R. H. Holtan,supervisor; P. M. Paulson, justice of peace; Lester Brennom, con-! stable; and O. J. Eggum, W. G. I Olson and F. A. Caswell, caucus: committee.
