Hungivillo; president of -the Smethport Oonopus club last week Fred Santachi, a valued employe of the great government dairy plant was persuaded to come la Smcth port and' look the local project over.Mr, Santschi arrived in Smethport Saturday and met with representative farmers of this comtnunlly and with the industrial and agricultural committees of the Conopus club at meetings Saturday afternoon and Monday morning. SARTWELL.Highly Esteemed Lady Passed Away Saturday Afternoon*.The death of Mrs. Clara M., Snrt-woi), wifo of Frank C, Sartwcll. occurred Saturday afternoon at 4,30 o'clock at thn family homo on King street, following an extended illness. Nearly a year ago Mrs. Sartweil suffered an attack of paralysis, but eventually wae able to get about up to-January 12, ta«t when elie 'fell at her homo and fractured her hip. Since thoj time ahe had been confined to her bed and on Tuesday of last week she suffered another attack of paralysis from which she did not rally.Mrs. Sartweil was one of Smeth-port's best known women and was bo-loved by all. A devout member of St. Luke’s church, she was ever active in affairs of church and parish. Hers was a life devoted to the surcease of suffering. Few were the calls of tho needy that Clara Sartweil did not hear and acts of kindness anjJ mercy innumerable characterized her life and endeared her to oil. In her -passing her home, her church and Uio 'community has suffered an irreparable lose and her demise Is mourned by every citizen.Clara M. Hoffman was born In thin place April 30. 1802, a daughter of Mr, and Mrs. Adam Hoffman. She was united in marriage to F. C, Sartweil in Smethport May 25, 1892, To them, one daughter, Margaret, now Mrs. William March, was born. Besides her husband and daughter, the deceased is survived by one sister, Mrs. T, F. Hunglvilie .of Smethport.The funeral was held at St. Luke’s church Tuesday afternoon at 2:00 o'clock, the Rev. W. E. Van Dyke officiating.
