tend to obey the laws of God, by violating one of his commands publicly just before coming into power.Dedication at Brattleboro', Vt. The new Meeting-house, erected by the Baptist Church and Society in Brattlebo-ro\ Vt. was dedicated to the worship of God on the 3d inst. The Scriptures wete read, and the first prayer was offered by Rev. E. Andrews, formerly of Bernards-ton, Mass.; Sermon by Rev. Elijah Hutchinson, of Windsor; and Consecrating Prayer by Rev. Samuel Fish, of Halifax. The singing was conducted by Mr. Thomas M. Marshall, of Shelburne Falls, Mass. All the exercises were appropriate, and listened to by a crowded and apparently deeply interested audience. The house is forty-two feet wide by fifty-sevenf long, pleasantly located in the centre of the village, neatly finished, with a convenient vestry underneath, and cost between twenty-six and twenty-seven hundred dollars; most of which is already covered with the sale of the slips, and the prospect is fair that subsequent sales will soon cover the whole. The church which is thus favored, was first organized 011 the second day of April last, and received tbe fellowship of sister churches on the sixth of May.— May she still enjoy tbe Divine presence, that her future prosperity may bear some proportion to the past.—Com.■ m ■■11 1it a m i n n n
