Daughters of American Colonists meet tomorrowThe Illinois State Society of The Daughters of the American Colonists (DAC) will have its annual spring assembly tomorrow and Saturday in Lisle, 111.Delegates from seven chapters located over the state are expected to attend the two-day meeting at the Holiday Inn Crowne Plaza in Lisle, 111.Numbering more than 10,000 members nationwide, NSDAC is a society of women descended from settlers of the American colonial period who performed certain military or civil services prior to the signing of the Declaration of Independence on July 4,1776. *Attending members from the south suburbs are from Midlothian, Homewood, Calumet City and South Holland.The local group will be selecting and marking an area building or landmark as a project for the year.The national project is the making of a video on βThe Life of Patrick Henry,β which will be loaned to schools across the country and shown to visitors at Red Hill in Brookneal, Va., the last home of the colonial statesman and the place he is buried.Area residents desiring membership applications may telephone the chapter registrar at (312) 339-4417.
