This came as a.••hock, fur although he under-I went an operation a few daysl previously, he appeared to bemaking good progress.Mr Marsh came from England to Victoria after the last war, and received his training for the ministry at St. Aidans College. Ballarat. He was made a deacon in 1932 and wfas ordained into the priesthood by the Bishop of Ballarat in 1936.FORMERLY AT COBDEN.He was deacon-in-charge at Edenhope in 1933-34, and deacon-in-charge at Panmure rrom 1934 to 1936; was priest-ln-charge of Cobden-Tim boon from ! 1936 to 1936, and prlest-in-charge at Cobden from 1938 tUl 1940. He was then appointed to the Alvie-Beeac parish.He gained the respect, not only of the members of the parish, but of residents generally.SERVED IN GREAT WAR.Deceased was the son of Canon Marsh, of England. He served in the British Army in Mesopotamia in the last war, and was a member of the Returned Soldiers’ League.His widow is a sister to Mr Ken Archer, registrar of the Diocese of Ballarat, and of Mr F. Archer, head master of Caulfield Grammar SchoolTwo young children, David and Ruth, survive him, and for them and his widow much sympathy is felt.BISHOP OFFICIATES AT SERVICE.Before the burial at Colac cemetery on Saturday, a service was held at the Church of England, Alvie. This was conducted by the Bishop of Ballarat, Right Rev. W. H. Johnson.
