“THE AUSTRALIAN JOURNAL.”A new serial by Georgette Heyer, of “The.se Old Shades” fame, is one of the features of “The Australian Journal” Tor March. “Footsteps in the Dark” is the name of this yarn, which promises to. be a real thriller. Other highlights of the current Journal are stories by Elizabeth Powell, Gertrude Hart, Osmar White, Rex Grayson, J. Francis Peters, Eric North, and Jay Woods. Lumley Rycroft's account of a battle with Chinese pirates is most interesting, while the humorous aspects of life are treated by J. P. Kinney, F. Stewart Gee and the anonymous but cynical “Ladye Jane,” whose brother Gecrge has such surprising adventures. Excellent illustrations by Esther Paterson, Adrian Watts. Alee. McRae, and Beu Ritchard make the March issue the brightest yet, and worthy to be clad in one of Miss Paterson’s most charming cover designs.
