A force of forty-two men under the direction of H. E. Slack. Riverside, superintendent of construction for the Cresmer Manu facturing Company, is busy rushing work to completion on Corona’s new $150,000 high school on West Sixth street. At the rate of progress the school should be ready for commencement exercises next June. The imposing structure is rapidly nearing completion and is a credit to Circle City The amount of interest taken by tourists in the building of the new school and the rise of reality values in that immediate section of town speak well for the future of Corona. Work is Rushed A force of plasterers is now busy and next week finishing work on the inside of the building will be start ed. The roof is now practically on, there being but a small portion of the center section to complete. Huge beams are in place overhead in the 52 by 78 auditorium and the concrete front of the stage is ready for the finishing touches. The aud itorium alone will seat over 600 peo ple and in Mr. Slack’s estimation will be one of the most beautiful and convenient auditoriums in Southern California. This is a feature of the school which will fill the need of the community in giving ample rooms for public gatherings. With the stage equipment including motion picture rooms, lighting paraphernalia, etc., it will be possible to bring educa tional films and dramatic companies of a high type to Corona. The Cresmer Manufacturing com pany has installed practically every convenience for completing the work on the building as soon as possible and the systematic order in which each phase of the work is being done will interest and impress Coronans who visit the school site and watch the progress of the construction. Mr. Slack is an experienced build er and knows every part of the work from shoveling sand to putting on the finishing touches. He is also a believer in Corona and this morning stated that opportunities for build ing cozy bungalows, apartment houses and dwellings of all kinds on the property in the neighborhood of the new high school was never better and investors should get busy at once while property is low priced.
