The city oj Aztalan, which a year or two since was announced a* existing on one of the branches of Rock River, at Wisconsin, is a reality, bo fur as it relates lo tho extensive remains of ancient works. Our iniornmnt examined ihis work thoroughly. It consists of parapets of earth, like the Indian Fortification* of Ohio, withsomo things peculiar to Itself, covering 13 acres of ground. No evidences of a higher civilization than that which exists in the Ohio works wore found, except it may he some brick burnt, in the ancient rude way. These Wore found in certain projections from the parapets. They were evidsnliy brick, but made with straw in the old mode, and rudely formed. It is said, however, thul the Indians of the Kocky Mountains do now make brick.Within two of the angles of this work are found two toweraaad mounds,intended, as our informant believes, for watch towers, and also for burial places.—Through one he dug, but found nothing. In the othor he fuOnd • regular vault, about the s'ze of a common room, but much longer i-n one way than the other.—Hero he found I many bones of human beings. It was evidently u tomb.
