The regular monthly meeting of the Iberia Parish Chapter Red Cross will be held at Red Cross headquarters on Jefferson street in Sunday School room on the sec ond Friday of each month 10:30 A. M. A full attendance is requested, ~The friends in New Iberia of Mr. Richard Cochran were pained last Monday upon receipt of news that he had been run over and killed at Gibson, La., by a pass ing train. Mr. Cochran was em ployed as section foreman in that Vicinity and had removed from New Iberia about six months ago to take up his occupation. He was a member of Cypress Camp No. 34 and had many friends in New Iberia. His remains were laid to rest on Wednesday after noon in the presence of a large concourse of friends and sympa thizers. Cypress Camp sent as their representative to his funeral Mr. John Gonzales of this City. From what we have been able to learn both of the legs of Mr. Cochran was crushed to a pulp and he was killed instantly by an unnoticed train. He leaves a wife and several children to mourn his demise.
