DtamofQroTer.G-rover was the smartest, most intelligent and valuable dog id Tiptou and everybody was bis friend. Last Sunday sonae fellow who does not appreciate the value of a good dog, gave him poison and he died before any-. thing could be done for him. Grover was a shepherd dog and he display* ed mare intelligence than any dog we ever knew. He was the property of Dave Grove and hie has been offered large sums of money for him. Grover was well behaved, good n»-tured and treated everybody kindly aud why any one would waat to kill him, no one is able to explain: Be could do almost anything that any dog could do and seemed to understand nearly everything that was said to him. Recently, Dad McClellan gave him a note to give to bis master. He started out, but could not find Irion. He took it to the barn, where be hid it until the next day, when he went got it and teok it to Dave. He displayed great intelligence in many ways and an that knew him regret his death. It will never do lor the man. that killed him t* let Grove find it ont.
