AID FOB POCAHONTAS BUFFS BEES.The seuute today agreed to the following joint resolution, which was communicated ! to the senate from the house, by Mr. Mustard :Whereas the information 1ms reached the general assembly of a fearful calamity at the coal mine in Tazewell county, near Pocahontas, by which 150 lives were lost, the most of whom were laborers with families dependent upon their daily labor for the necessaries of life; and whereas the untimely death of so many of our citizens must necessarialy subject some of their families to great want, if not destitution: thereforeJRe-solved (the senate concurring), That the governor of this commonwealth be and is hereby authorized to ascertain as soon as possible the proximate amount of money necessary to relieve the immediate wants of the sufferers caused by said accident, and communicate to this general assembly what steps should be taken in the premises.
