A dispatch irom Jackson, ot the 7th, says :There was a riot at Meridian, ninety-three miies east dt here yesterday, during’ which Judge Bamlelte. Judge ot the City Court, and eight or ten negroes were killed. A number ol whites and negroes were wounded.A Are occurred a* Meridian on Saturday night, destroying £75,000 worth of property. Lofton, a negro who was arrested as tin incendiary, was being tried be*ore Judge Bcamlette, vrben Tyler, I a negro, rose in the court room and slut Ju 'ce Bramlelle through the heart killing him instantly. J. Aaron Monroe, negro, a prominent politician and member of the Mississippi Legislature,.who wi3 also a prisoner as accessory to the burning, was shot, it is supposed, mortally.La^st night another fire destroyed the church and other buildings.A meeting ol the citizens was held, and a safety committee, to co operate w ith the Sheriff in preserving order was appointed. All is now quiet.Another account from Meridian under the same date, says iYesterday, during the trial of three negroes, charged with riotous conduct, one of the prisoners, named Fmley, alias Fyler, shot and iu-stantly killed Justice Bramlette, who was presiding. The citizens assembled in large numbers, armed, to assist the officers.
