YELLOW BAY — One of six young women representing a community in northwest Montana will be crowned 1983 Cherry Blossom Queen May 1 at the Yellow Bay Community Clubhouse. The event, to start at 1:30 p.m., is sponsored by the East Shore Lions Club. The contestants and their parents were honored Friday evening at a dinner at the Yellow Bay clubhouse. Contestants are Anita Foster, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Foster, Whitefish; Wendy Strong, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Strong, Polson; Sandee Probert, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Edwin Probert, Columbia Falls; Adele Gasser, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Bennie Gasser, Ronan; Carrie Schmidt, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Don Schmidt, Bigfork; and Stacey Bennetts, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charlie Bennetts, Kalispell. Judges for the contest are Dave Goodnaugh, Whitefish; Howard Hunter, Columbia Falls; Ralph Sievers, Kalispell; Lee Winters, Bigfork; Mona Cheetham, Polson; and Michael Mathern, Ronan. The talent portion of the competition will be April 28 at 7:30 p.m. in the Bigfork Summer Playhouse. The public is invited to attend.
