50 Members Enrolled in Southernmost Sunday SchoolBy CURTIS JEWKESKEY WEST, FLORIDA—Recently the southernmost Sunday School of the Church in continental United States was organized at Key West, Florida. Prior to the time of its organization the L D S group had functioned as a Home Sunday School. Sustained and set apart as the superintendent was Verl J. Scad-lock. Elder Scadlock is a native Southern Californian. Shortly after World War II he made his permanent residence in Key West, subsequent to a term of service in the Navy there, and where he now’ owns and operates a wholesale chemical com pany.Most of the members of the'Key West Sunday School are Navy personnel and their families. There are 50 members on record in the Sunday School but Naval maneuvers and service duty restrict many from consistent attendance. Following a precedent already set in the Southern States Mission, the Key West Sunday School plans to build a chapel andalready has a rapidly growingbuilding fund.Although Key West is 150 miles south of Miami on the famous “Over-the-Sea” highway it functions completely independent of the two branches of the Church in Miami, and only occasionally does a regular traveling missionary visit there.HOME SUNDAY SCHOOL—Members of the newly organized Key West (Florida) Sunday School ‘‘mug^’ thacamera.
