tULES CHANGE WILL NOT AFFECT AIR DEPARTMENTThe fact that the Department of Commute has raised the flying requirements of private pilots from ten hour* solo to ftfty hours nolo, will have no effect whatsoever on the courses (riven by the Department of Aeronautics of the college, said Col.Earl C. Popp, director of that department.At the ten hour pern d, the pilot after June I, will be* called a “solo pilot instead of a “private pilot. “ He has all the privileges of the former privat* pilot as to types of ships he may fly, cross country flying* and night flyinjCv the only difference being that any posesngera he takes with him must be private pilots orhigher. He will be allowed no other passengers.Several college pilots are nearly ready for the new rating, notably Travers Hulse, William Mueller and Colin Vince.
