Steubenville, Oliio, was married to John Gillaspie Sept. 26, 184b Came to Iowa in 1856, united with the MiJPleasant Baptist church in 1857,moved to Wayne Township, in 1863 to the home from which she has nowpassed away, with the exception of afew years spent on the Cole farm,her life since then has been passed on the home farm. After coming to Wayne she with her husband united with the Jefferson Baptist Church of which she was a member until the old church, of which she was a member, went to decay. Her children, live sons and one daughter survive, to mourn one who loved them well. The services were conducted by the ltev. II. A. Hoover, pastor of the Baptist church, of Mt. I niou. andthe remains were laid at rest, in thecemetry adjoining the Old Hardshell Baptist church, I miles south of theGillispie residence.
