THIS MUST BE fASCOTT.Mr* Stone, of Chicago, Expect a to Capturethe Murderer Soon.Chicago, March H.~It is thought that Tascott, tjUe murderer of Banker Sne.I, will soon be captured. Upon the clew that the fugitive was employeii by a tie contractor at Rat Portage, Canada, together with what was pronounced a genuine specimen of Tas-cotPs handwriting, Mr. Stone, Snell's brother-in-law, started for Canada, taking with him old Badehach, City Detectives Williams and McDonald and a young man uamed Williams, a former chum of TascottArriving at Rat Portage the contractor said Tascott had suddenly disappeared. Three days before Stone and his.party arrived Tus-cott received a dispatch, which was brought to him by a special messenger from Rat Portage. Next morning he was missing. More fully convinced that be was on the trail of the right man, but seeing for the first time that Tascott had friends, Stone went back to Rat Portage, and inquired of the telegraph operator if a telegram had been received from Chicago three days before. It was directed to James Willey, or Milley, the address being Rat Portage^ care of the railroad contractor. It was a lot of rubbish and wasn’t intelligible. He thought it was a cipher dispatch.Stone came to the conclusion that some one in Chicago had, wired Tascott that Stone had started. By diligent search aud iuquiry it was learned in what direction the young man had gone, and the pursuers started north. Stone telegraphed Mrs. Snell that he expected to have Tascott within the week.
