inTVOnStation’s Third Time a Charm?By DAVID FOREMANThe Winchester StarMaybe the third time will be a charm.WYVN, the twice-failed television station in Martinsburg, W.Va., is on the air.But the programming is a little different.There is no news, or sports, or soap operas, but there are commercials.Info-mercials to be exact.Twenty-four hours a day. *Welcome to the inTV network.And don't go looking for WYVN, because the call letters have changed.The station now goes by WSHE according to Rick Kerns, public affairs director for the station.“WYVN frankly has had abad history, so that's why we changed the call letters,” Kerns said Tuesday.WSHE is now owned and operated by Paxson Communication Corp., part of the media empire of Lowell “Bud” Paxson, founder of the Home Shopping Network.Former Martinsburg television station WYVN is back on the air as station WSHE. Thechannel airs 30-►minute infomercials on channel 31 in Winchester.Kerns said Informercial Television is presented as a network and shows different infomercials every half hour.The channel is already being televised on Adelphia Cable Channel 31 in Winchester and Frederick County, Kern said.The station will be branching out to markets Front Royal, Fredericksburg, Northern Virginia, Chambersburg, Pa., and Montgomery County, Md.Kern said the infomercials will be produced at other loca-See Infomercials Page C3
