FCC students get training session on fire safetyFrederick Community College students got some hands-on experience in operating fire extinguishers during a training session held on campus recently. The cooperative program was sponsored by the Junior Fire Company, the University of Maryland and FCC.The training program was offered to park management majors at the college me session was designed 10 teach students fire safety and how to operate fire extinguishersThe Junior Fire Company provided supplies, a pumper and an ambulance. The University of Maryland provides the certification for fire and rescue training in the state.The unique cooperative effort between the college, local fire company and state university gives students practical, functional skills beyond the classroom experience.[ Participation in the training session!was a prerequisite for students to fill the requirements of a resource, protection and safety course Eleven students and three FCC staff $ members participated in the program.
