Three Boy Scout adult leaders were presented district Awards of Merit Saturday night at the annual Central District recognition dinner of Mc Kan Area Council, Boy Scouts of America, at Joplin Parkwood High School. Jack Allman, district president, presented awards to Miss Shelia Kitch, den mother of Pack No. 2; Jack Holt, Troop 6 scoutmaster, and Floyd McKinney, Troop 13 scout master. Three district awards are given each year to out standing Scout leaders for their work in the Central District. Receiving, awards for meritorious service were Mrs. Wanda Harold, who is employed by the Boy Scout Council, and George Spaeth, a former president of the Central District now residing in Kansas City. Bill Potter, area outdoor writer, was guest speaker. Master of ceremonies was James Foley, unit manager of South western Bell Telephone Co. Music was provided by the Nola Waites.
