Basher of New York Served With Papers by Aaron Poultry and Egg Co., While Attending the Kan-feafi City Convention—Aaron Asks for Damages in the Sum of $20,400.Other Complaints Against J. K. Dasher Bro.—Sam Sugar, Who Was Also at Kansas City, Says It’s a Case of Operators Dosing Money Are Now Kicking.Kansas .City, March 12.—Suit was filed here in the county court this week against J. K. Dasher Br.o., egg receivers of New York, by the Aaron Poultry Egg Co., asking judgment against the New York concern in the sum of $20,4*00 to cover losses in a 1919 egg deal. W. G. Basher, president of the firm apd known in**the trade as “Pete,” who was here attending the convention of the Mis-, souri Carlot. Egg Shippers’ Association, was served with papers in the action by the sheriff at the Baltimore Hotel Tuesday afternoon.Briefly, the complaint on file in the suit shows that early in April of 1919 J. K. Dasher Bro. bought 25 cars of eggs in New York for the Aaron Poultry Egg Co., the understanding between the parties' to the transaction being that J. IC Dasher Bro. were to • buy Kansas, Missouri, Iowa, Indiana or Illinois stock, to. personally oversee the repacking of the eggs, that all dirties, small stock and checks were to be removed, that all stained flats and fillers were to be replaced with new ones, all of which expense the Kansas City firm was to pay for and which expense was charged to the firm'When the eggs began to come out in October, a large percentage of the stock showed mold and many , cases showed that they were not properly packed and the general condition of the stock caused the Aaron Poultry Eggf'Co. a heavy loss. Had the goods been properly packed and handled and the quality purchased as ordered the deal would have shown the Aaron firm a nice profit, the complaint sets forth.When The Packer man called upon Edward Aaron, head of the Aaron Poultry . Egg Co., here this week, for additional information regarding the case, he said: “The court records show what I have* to say. I do not care to talk about the case. Such law suits are distasteful to me. I have been in business 21 years and this is the first time that I have ever entered suit against anybody or any firm.”
