Johnson -LairdMiss Coy Laird and Glenn Johnson went to Lafayette yes ter* day add were quietly married at th^ home of Rey. G. W. Switzer by him. They will return today or tomorrow to this vicinity and complete their preparations to • begin housekeeping, on the farm belonging to the groomts father south of town.the bride is the daughter of Mr, and Mrs, Elmer Laird, a popular and* accomplished young lady. The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. J. Frank Johnson and possesses the characteristic virtues of a popular and industrials young man.their many friends will wish wish them godspeed in their jouruey just began.Miscellrneous Shower.Miss Enid Johnston#as hostess to a miscellaneous shower in honor of Miss Coy Laird, a bride of the month, last Friday evening at her home in the South End. There were a number of the young lady friends of the hostess and the bride present and a delightfully pleasant evening was had by all. Miss Coy received a number of hmdsome and uteful gifts.Mrs. Beulah Brisco and Miss Myrtle Clement gave a linen and aluminum shower in compliment to Miss Coy Laird at their home last Saturday evening. Quite a number of the young ladies of the vicinity were present and enjoyed the social features of the evening Miss Liird received a number ot pleasing gifts.K *
