Dow.Tuesday at 12:45 o’clock a. m. occurred the death of George Sears Dow. the oldest chid of Mr. and Mrs. John F. Dow. The deceased was taken sick about ten days ago with what appeared to be an attack of la grippe. The case was serious from the start. He sank rapidly and family and friends despaired his recovery. The best medical talent in tlio city was procured and every effort was made to relieve the young sufferer but to no avail.Night before last he seemed to rally and for the first time during his illness there was a gleam of hope, but it prov-•e-d transitory. Monday afternoon there was a change again and this time for the worse. Continuing to sink he breathed his last at the hour above named.The deceased was born in this city the fall of 1S78 and was ilyears and (i months old at the time, of his death. He has been a pupil in the public schools and was a member of the junior class of the High school. Of a cheerful disposition and bright by nature he was a general favorite among schoolmates and teachers, and they with a vast circle of friends join with the grief striken parents in their terrible bereavement.The funeral will be held from the family residence, corner of Fourtn and College avenue, at 2 o'clock Thursday afternoon. Interment at Oakdale cemetery. . .
