B, Allen, aged 49 years and 11 days*The deceased was taken with a severe chill, followed by Pneumonia, with which he lingered with some, hope of recovery until thu day preceding his death, when ha was taken with violent pains in hia head, producing congestion ot the brain of which he died on the thirteenth day of his illness. He was born in Shelby county, Ky, and became a member of the Presbyterian church in his early manhood. His chaste, deep, and eonmderate mode ol‘thinking moulded his actions to a beautiful consistency with the Christian lile b* had espoused. Having graduated in medicine nt the Transylvania University ufKentucky in 1837, he continued the practice ot liis profession as a trustworthy and skilful physician to the time ot his last illness, and was ever faithful in the discharge of his duties to the afflicted, even to the detriment of his own health.As nature takes home hor devoted son and shrouds him in her iosom, the voice of promise whispers,.he has tilled his mission, and far above this world of darkness and death he shall live again; and under the arcade of Paradise, tune his harp to the symphony of the angelic host that heralds the coming day, when broken circles shall reunite, crushed spirits shall bloom.with joy and careworn faces be made to shine with smile as bright and unlading nsjthe golden hues of the New Jerusalem.J.
