H. lieil, arrived a. this port yesterday, in 77 days from Kabender, Africa.) The Panther was bound to Providence, (11. I.) but put into this port on accountof stress of weather, being short of provisions, and sickness on board. She was captured in consequence of suspicions being entertained that she was engaged in the slave trade, and has been sent to the United States for trial.The Vorktown was left at Kabender to proceed ui) the coast in a tew days. She had•captured at sea, Sept. 25tb, American sclir. Patuxent, Capt. Davis, suspected of slaving, and placed prize master J heat. XV. Chandler, on board. The P. sailed from Monrovia Gib i Nov. for New-York. 30rh Nov., captured i American Larcue Pons, Capt. Callina [Portuguese, ] with 900 slaves on board. Sent her to Monrovia to land the negroes, Lieut. R. C. Cog dell acting as ; rize master. The ! Pons had been previously seized by II. B. M. j brig Cygnet but released in a few days. j The Panther has experienced much bad weather, and is in a leaky condition. 30th Jan., lat 25 N. long. 57 VV. saw an English barque, colours union down. A Br. ship, the Denizen, of Liverpool, alongside—kept away for them—she had been boarded bv liie ship and soon after capsized, no name on iier stern. 25th Feb., lat. 33 long. 73, boarded American brig Historian, JMilliken, 3 days from New-York for Nassau, received a supply of provisions from her—same day spoke brig Atlantic, bound to New-IIaven.Midshipman 11. G. D. Brown came home on duty in the Panther. Midshipman B. S. Cushman was attached to the Patuxent, andMaster’s Mate J. C. Lawrence to the Pons. Capt..I. M. XV. was supposed to be engaged in the slave trade, and has been sent to the United States tor trial.First March, lat. 24 21 Jong. 57 13, spoke sclir. Curlew, 9 days from New-York, with loss of bulwarks and other damage.The R. W. was formerly under the command of Capt. Pfister, who is on board. Thefollowing persons were senniome as prisoners in the It. W., J. M. Itush, J. Hamilton, J. P. Morris and A. J. Shute, theywere taken by 11. B.
