The Right Rev. Randolph R. Claiborne, bishop of the Diocese of Atlanta, has approved the es tablishment of a mission station in Perry under the auspices of St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church in Fort Valley. The proposed name of the mission is St. Christopher's At-the-Crossroads. The first service for the new mission will be Evening Prayer next Sunday night, March 15, at 8 o’clock at the Perry Mfg. Co. ca feteria. Subsequent services will be held twice a month, Holy Communion on the second Sunday and Even ing Prayer on the fourth Sunday. Rev. Donald G. Mitchell Jr., rec tor of St. Andrew’s in Fort Valley will conduct the services. Mr. Mit chell came to St. Andrews from Dalton. He is a native of Macon. In addition to serving St. An drew’s, he is editor of The Dioce san Record, a monthly publication of the Diocese of Atlanta, which is printed in Perry by The Houston Home Journal. An organizational dinner meet ing was held last Sunday night at the home of Mr. and Mrs. W. A. Cotten. Mr. Mitchell appointed Ste wart Richardson as general chair man of the work to be done. John Hasty and Jack Horne were ap pointed secretary and treasurer. Other committees were set up by the chairman. Visitors will be welcomed at all of the services.
