IJis. Kudicot and (Jailwere summoned, it was found that she had sustained lujuries of a fatalcharacter. Monday morning sho was paralyzed, tho spinal oolumu evidently being involved in tho injuries. The victim was a Meshy woman, weighing probably ‘JUU pound, and this fact, had no doubt a bearing upon the serious character of the injuries sustained.The unfortunate victim of this mishap died Monday evening, about six o’clock. The doctors held out no hope of her recovery from the outset. The spinal column was broken, and tho body below tho point of thefracture was paralyzed.Her only child, a married daughternamed Mrs Pearce, by a remarkable combination of olrcumstHUco3, arrived Sunday evening with the intention of spending a short visit with her parents. Of course she was unaware of the htta! mishap that hud befallen her mother until she reached here. It seems Mr Pearce's mother died recently in Hutte City, Montana. Mr and Mrs Peorce accompanied the remains to California, it being arranged that the interment should be at Sun Jose, where the deceased had relatives buried. While Mr Pearce went on to Sau Jose, Mrs Pearce came on to Jackson to see her folks, ouly to Mud her mother close to the end of life’s journey. After seeing his own mother laid away in the grave Mr Pearce came on to Jackson to the last sad rites over his wife’s mother.The funeral took place on Thursday. Services were held in the M. E. church, Kev. X. H. Nicholas officiating. A large audience listened to a feeling discourse. The choir sang, and Mrs K. C. Pole rendered a touching solo. The remains were consigned to the grave in the city cemetery.
