The industrial depression, which has weighed heavily on Ludlow and vicinity since the tirat of the ear, because of the closing of seven mills, was somewhat lightened March 2 by the resumption of operations on half t»me at the Black Hiver woolen mills, giving about a hundred har\ds an opportunity to work again. The towu is almost, wholly dependent upon the woolen industry and the closing of the Ludlow woolen mill last fall, followed by shut-downs at Agan’s shoddy mill, the Jewel brook, the Yard Mont, the Black Kiver and the Proctorsville mills, has kept the business of this ordinarily thriving village at a complete standstill.
