V- 5He was a physician at the Central Louisiana State Hospital, Pine-ville, and lived at Alexandria.Dr. Rowland served as a staff member at the Arkansas State Hospital before becoming superintendent in 1938. He served three years as head of the institution.He was born in La pile, Union County, Arkansas, and was one of the state’s first psychiatrists. He had been licensed by Arkansas for 50years.Dr. Rowland’s first wife died in 1929 v-7.' f-v';Survivors include his second wife and a son arid six daughter by his first marriage.They are Robert E. Rowland Jr., Lake Arthur, La., and Miss Fahy Rowland of \Selma, Calif., Mrs. Robert L. Pye and Mrs. H. C. McKinney of El Dorado, Ark., Mrs. Guy B. Hayes of Port Lavaca, Tex, Mrs. E. B. Ward, Jr., of Little Rock, and Mrs. J W Durden of Fort Smith, ArkFuneral services will be held at El Dorado at 2 p.m., tomorrow.
