Hershey, Pa., March 10. —(P)— A joint statement by William F. R. Murrie, president of the Hershey Chocolate corporation, and John O. Shearer, president of the AFL Bakers and Confectioners interna tional union local, announced a wage increase of 16% cents an hour for 3,000 Hershey employes. The announcement made Satur day said the increase amounts to 22 per cent, and was effective as of January 1 and that an increase of eight and one fourth cents was retroactive between October 4, 15 to December 31, 15. The statement, released through the company, said the increase placed the average wage for men at 98% cents an hour and for women at 74 cents an hour.
