Messrs J. W. E. Maughon and Kelly Elrod of Gwinnett oouatv have been indicted for the murder of Zack Cleghorn. They were oflicers, and attempted tn arrest Cleghorn, but he broke boose from them and ran. Shots were fired. Cleghorn was hit in tbe back, ( and died almost instantly. Maugh-on and Elrod were arrested,, a prelim iuarv trial wan held, and they %were released, because tlusy showed that they did not shoot (’leghorn, but that he was killed by kiabrotlaer, who mistook him for one o! the otlicors.
